Blacked out dates on the Airtran U program are those dates where it is not possible
for a passenger to get a standby seat at a lower cost.
For Airtran U customers, it is important to know the dates that are blacked out for A+ Rewards travel and standby ticketing.
These include all major holidays, like New Year's, Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor Day as well as Christmas and Thanksgiving.
Also blacked out are the dates for President's Day and Easter. It is easy to find the calendar of blacked out dates for each year online on the Airtran U website.
You can also research how to get insanely cheap flights tickets on the website for days around these holidays to avail cheap travel while on a budget, or how best to find standby flights on an airline.

Airtran U passengers must be aware of the blackout dates for each calendar year
to be able to plan their travels better. Since lower cost standby seats cannot be
bought on blackout dates, it is important to know which days to avoid if you are
looking for a cheap ticket.
For 2011, the blackout dates include New Year's (January 2 and 3), as well as February
18 till March 21st and from March 25th till March 28th for Easter. The blackout dates
in April include the 2, 3, 10, 21, 22, 23, 24, and 25th. May 27th, 30th and June
26th are also blacked out dates. For July, the dates include 1, 2, 10, 17, 24, and
31st. August 7th is also blacked out. Thanksgiving blackout dates include November
23rd, 26th, 27th and 28th. Christmas dates are 22nd, 23rd, 26th, 27th, 28th and 30th
of December.
Owned by Southwest airlines, Airtran U is the cheapest carrier for people between
the ages of 18 and 22 looking to travel on a budget. The program allows students
to get last second flights on standby at a fraction of the original ticket price.
The only rules are that there can be no check-
Airtran U is a travel program for travelers with ages from 18 to 22. It's a great
standby flights program loved by college students who want to get airline tickets
under $100. Students can go online and read about how they can get cheap flights
from Airtran U.
Standby fares are usually just around $49 to $99 to any of the cities that AirTran
Airways serve. The best time to book flights are on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays,
which are off-
Airtran U does not accept minors on the last flight for each day as the company
does not think minors should arrive at their destination after 7:00 pm local time.
This helps make sure the minor is not required to stay overnight in a connecting city should flights get delayed or cancelled. An unaccompanied minor is someone between the ages of five and 12 who is not accompanied by someone over the age of 12.
Once a minor is registered as an unaccompanied minor with Airtran U, the airline
will take complete responsibility for their safe travel and delivery to the final
destination.
